Mission and Philosophy

My mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can develop independence, build positive relationships, and acquire school-readiness skills. I am committed to inspiring a love for learning while helping children gain the confidence, social skills, and and knowledge they need for a successful start to school.


I follow a play-based learning philosophy where children engage in purposeful and constructive play including guided learning activities and free-choice play time. The activities provided support social/emotional, language/literacy, physical, cognitive, and creative development.  I value each child’s individuality and recognize that they have unique abilities, interests, and needs.  Through nurturing and individualized attention, I build positive relationships with each child, foster their ideas and imagination, and provide the guidance and structure they need.

Curriculum Information

We focus on the whole child by fostering development in social/emotional, physical, language/literacy, cognitive, and creative areas.

    • The environment is welcoming and cozy like home while also structured for learning.

Classroom Setup

Personal Space:

  • Individual cubby areas provide each child with their own space.

  • Children practice name recognition

  • Children learn responsibility and self-help skills such as:

    • Organizing and keeping track of their belongings.

    • Dressing for outdoor play

    • Managing their lunch and storing their work.

Large Group Area:

  • A designated space for structured learning in core content areas:

    • Language and literacy

    • Math

    • Science

    • Social studies

    • Music

  • Focus areas include:

    • Developing listening skills

    • Improving language abilities

    • Following directions

    • Taking turns

Learning Centers:
